Building Sustainability Skills in the Workplace

Tesco:

We worked with over 250 members of staff in Tesco in two research projects funded by the Sustainable Consumption Institute. The aim was to build sustainability skills in the workplace from the shop-floor to senior management, and to embed new ways of thinking and behaviour change towards sustainability. There was extensive data gathering, with clear evidence of improved understanding and skills, and greater enthusiasm for change and actions being taken.
An important aspect of making the ideas more accessible and easy to communicate was developing clear, simple graphics and hands-on learning tools to engage learners with the ideas.

A new business model for Tesco is required; the whole world needs to make the changes now. I am surprised how much I have changed my work and personal life with the knowledge I have.” Tesco participant on RoundView training
